hello everybody,
beg your pardon for my english, i hope you will understand me: i have installed many multimedia-programs and, by the same time, added a second user ( i have allowed the second user to listen to the media files of the first user. Since then the first user can`t listen to ogg-files anymore. He is able to listen to all other kind of files and, what is more funny, the second user may listen to ogg-files. During the last few days i have read a lot about this problem, most advices tell: a) to remove the amarokrc file in ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok or ~/.kde/share/config/ b) that there is a bug in that file where is a "&"ogg where a ogg is supposed to be. I have removed the amarokrc files, amarok was again with the default settings, but still didn`t play ogg files. i have looked for the wrong "&"ogg, but have found no ogg at all ( i think it was in the amarokrc, but i`m sure confused now). thats all im able to say on my own, im quite new to computers and i`m missing lots of knowledge. if someone might help me it would be great. with best greetings to all of you tornow ( by the way: if tried several media-players, linux-like rythmbox and even windows and i-tunes, but i really do like amarok.thanks for giving so much fun to the world too!) |

hello again,
once again i`ve read about the bug with the &ogg. So i`ve checked my config-file once again. In my .kde/share/config/amarokrc isnt any line with one of the following content: -sharedFiletypes -ogg -mp3 or anything like that:
It would be great if somebody could tell me what to do now, cause all i read about this issue is the bug problem with the &ogg. On my own i can`t solve the problem. greetings to all of you tornow |

there was an error with xine, so i renamed its configuration file in my home folder, and everything is fine again.
