In the latest times I've had troubles compiling the trunk version of Amarok and I can't figure out what is the real problem.
Here is the last piece of the build log
Code: Select all
Linking CXX shared module ../../../../lib/libamarok_collection-sqlcollection.so
/usr/bin/ld: /usr/lib/mysql/libmysqld.a(net_serv.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqld.a: could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [lib/libamarok_collection-sqlcollection.so] Error 1
make[1]: *** [amarok/src/collection/sqlcollection/CMakeFiles/amarok_collection-sqlcollection.dir/all] Error 2

I have Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 AMD64. Someone can imagine what to do?

The Ubuntu MySQL package is currently broken. You need to compile it yourself; see here:
