Amarok 1.4.9.1 (from Ubuntu Hardy repos, with KDE 3.5.9) is not detecting my MTP device, Creative Zen MicroPhoto. It works with Rhythmbox and gnomad2. Also, mtp-detect sees it. Here is some of the output of mtp-detect:
Detect: Successfully connected 1 devices USB low-level info: Using kernel interface "usbfs" bcdUSB: 512 bDeviceClass: 255 bDeviceSubClass: 0 bDeviceProtocol: 0 idVendor: 041e idProduct: 413c IN endpoint maxpacket: 512 bytes OUT endpoint maxpacket: 512 bytes Device flags: 0x00000001 Device info: Manufacturer: Creative Technology Ltd Model: Creative Zen MicroPhoto Device version: 1.20.01_0.00.65 Serial number: 01052(removed cause I'm paranoid)3931C Vendor extension ID: 0x00000006 Vendor extension description: microsoft.com: 1.0;microsoft.com/WMPPD: 10.0;microsoft.com/WMDRMPD: 10.1; Detected object size: 32 bits I ran mtp-detect as the same user I run amarok as. I try to autodetect the device, and it gives me the generic message: No new media devices were found. If you feel this is an error, ensure that the DBUS and HAL daemons are running and KDE was built with support for them. You can test this by running "dcop kded mediamanager fullList" in a Konsole window. I also started to attempt to compile from source. I ended up having to get a new version of kdelibs. That wouldn't compile unless I got Qt4.4. It was wayyy too complicated, so I gave up.
