5th Generation IPOD Video Crashes Amarok When connected

Whenever I connect my 5th generation ipod video, it crashes Amaraok. If I connect it while amarok is running, amarok crashes. If I have it connected and start amarok, it crashes. I put rockbox on my ipod, but then I uninstalled the bootloader for rockbox after I began having these issues. I also deleted the Amarok config file....nothing seems to work. When I go into Configure-amarok --> Media Devices and try to auto detect devices it reads my ipod as "sdc2" (the mount point) instead of as my ipod's name. When I set the type of player to apple ipod, that's when it messes up.

ERROR LOG:
Amarok has crashed! We are terribly sorry about this :(

But, all is not lost! You could potentially help us fix the crash. Information describing the crash is below, so just click send, or if you have time, write a brief description of how the crash happened first.

Many thanks.

The information below is to help the developers identify the problem, please do not modify it.

The backtrace suggests that the crash is happening while Amarok tries to read the information in your iPod's database using the libgpod library. It appears that this database has somehow become corrupted.

Please try this:
- make sure that your ipod is set to the correct type
- try again
- if it still crashes, then try the gtkpod program for managing your iPod
- if that crashes as well, then report your problems to the gtkpod-devel@lists.sourceforge.net mailing list (include the versions of libgpod and gtkpod)

How do I set the correct player type? I tried setting the pluggin to Apple music player, but I didnt see an option to set the model as Ipod 5g. That would be helpful. Gtkpod also crashed. However, floola works. I updated my libgpod as well according to the instructions on this page:

I used "sudo apt-get install libsgutils1 libsgutils1-dev" to get the libgpod and then I changed the SYSINFO to get only the firewireid and it fixed the problem i was having with my ipod. So your sysinfo should be FIREWIREID: 0x(the code for firewireid).
This thread is enormously helpful (but not all the stuff worked as he typed it for me)
