Streaming to Proxy in Amarok 2?

Tue Oct 14, 2008 3:02 am
Hi there,

I am currently using both Amarok 1.4.9.1 and Amarok 2 Beta 2.

In Amarok 1.4.9.1 I can stream to a proxy HTTP address, in this case it is my router which is connected to my stereo. I have been using the Esound (esd) output plugin to do this.

My question, is can I do this in Amarok 2 Beta 2, and if so how? I understand that Amarok 2 uses Phonon which is set to use the Xine engine? (Is this correct?). Can I change engines? Outputs? etc?

Does anyone know how I can stream to a proxy address (preferable using Esd) in this case, as I would like to use Amarok to so I can stream music wirelessly to my stereo.

Many thanks in advance for any advice on this.

PS: my OS is Kubuntu 8.10

Cheers
