sudo aptitude install amarok2 ???

If you are unlucky you might have to install kde4-core first.

Project neon http://www.ubuntu-unleashed.com/2008/05 ... -neon.html might also be of interest to you.  Although the instructions only talk about hardy there seems to be an intrepid build there also.

I run ubuntu but my first exposure to amarok2 has actually been via a mandriva live CD :)

I m afraid there is no Amarok 2 yet. Try synaptic and search for Amarok-kde4

I got it working.

I added this to my repositories

"deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu intrepid main universe multiverse restricted"

which I found in the Ubuntu forums and used synaptic.

It plays OK but it was late last night so not had time to look at everything yet.

Adding this and updating only gave some sql file ( MySQL database data files for Amarok 2) and definitely not amarok 2... The packages reads... "This package includes data files needed by Amarok 2 (amarok-kde4) at runtime." but Amarok-kde4 is no longer there...so practically there is no way to get it...

I installed fedora 10 in a VM and got to play with Amarok 2 that way (VirtualBox running on an Intrepid Ibex host).

ROFL :) This really had me laughing out loud.

Sorry, but that's really the craziest thing I've read in a while ;)
