[SOLVED] Amarok 2.0svn in wont' import my 1.4 collection -- where's the log?
Tue Nov 04, 2008 10:09 pm
Hi Amarok crew!
Well I've just install Mandriva Free 2009.0, which comes with Amarok 2.0svn with a Build Date of Oct 3 2008, and I can't get the collection importer to import my ratings and statistics from my Amarok 1.4 collection.db! I'm sure I've got the correct file, and the path I've entered is correct, but when it starts to import I get the following message:
I've looked and can't find a log file with anything in it... in my ~/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/ folder there is a file called collection_scan.log, but it's empty. I have captured what I think is the relevent console data though... I've uploaded it here: http://pastebin.com/f93df7d9 Any ideas? I suppose I'm in no rush to get my music meta-data, but it'd be nice to have my ratings and statistics imported eventually! If I just need to wait for a bugifx, then that's fine. Alternatively, I'm open to uploading my collection.db if someone needs it for debugging purposes. Hmm.... well now it's refusing to play music altogether! Haha... one problem at a time. Silly Mandriva shipping unstable software. ![]()

Mandriva is at fault here, since they have bundled unsupported and deprecated scripts with Amarok. Upgrade to beta 3, which was just recently released. There is an inbuilt importer that you can access using the Collection Setup.
