I have been using Amarok 2 for no more than 4 days. I have the 3rd Beta in Ubuntu 8.10 on a rather old pc (AMD 2000xp with 1 Gb RAM). Apart from the "slow" feeling the new Amarok gives me, I have this weird bug when changing the size of the middle part (where lyrics and wikipedia goes). When I move from page 1 (where lyrics are) to page 2(where wikipedia is) then these 2 windows seem to become disorganised and they are not in center any more, either moving window 1 left and/or window 2 to the right. This thing is fixed by pressing the collection button and make the left part (where the collection is) disappear, but comes bug while navigating through the windows. I use 1024x768 if that s a matter.
Another weird thing is the stop button. Trying to stop a song using the stop button either does not stop it, or it forces it to restart. The only way i found to stop a song is by pausing it first. |

Regarding the Stop button: If on Linux, make sure to use the xine Phonon backend.

Seems that amarok is too "heavy" for my system... had to remove it and go back to good old 1.4. I hope the development of 1.4 will go on for some time seems old systems like mine can 't keep up with newest technologies.

Interestingly, Amarok 2 actually performs better than Amarok 1 did, in many regards. We put great emphasize on performance with its design.

Maybe the moving windows in the middle. I have no idea (I 'm not a programmer in any way). But even the OSD window seemed to have a "heavier" feeling than the old one. Problem on my PC is on graphics since CPU usage only changed by 1-2%.
