After moving files into a directory marked for collection, scan recursive, monitor for changes Amarok is not seeing the files. I've left it overnight in case it was a slow loop, but they are not there.

I have physically checked the files are there, are playable (realplayer), have tag data (easytag), and have same file permissions as other files in the database.

Should I just select rescan collection?

1) What Amarok version are you talking about?

2) Amarok uses the directory mtime as an indicator for changes. Just "touch" (Unix command) the parent directory.

Hi,
I'm using v1.98.5 with KDE 4.1.3 release 63.3 on OpenSuSE 11.0

All my songs are in a subdirectory  /data2/MP3/Artist_name
I've issued touch /data2/MP3 and nothing has been updated yet (1 hour)

(Thanks for help and advice so far)

Oh well, after touching the directory you need to click Update Collection. The "Watch folders for changes" feature didn't work yet in RC1 (fixed in SVN).

Other than that, it should work, if you're not using FAT as your filesystem (it doesn't support mtime).

Hi,
I've seemed to solve it...
I found a directory marked for collection that is no longer mounted. I deselected it, hit OK and it started to update the collection.

Thanks for help and tips.
