(My) Amarok 1.4 scrobbled every title I listened to. Amarok 2.0 RC1 (ubuntu package) does only scrobble title which are in the database.
Well I don't really like this new behavior, is it a bug or (new) normal behavior?

For what it's worth, we just tested this with Amarok SVN and could not reproduce the problem. Scrobbling worked with tracks both in and out of the collection.

Well, I just tested it again, with the same result. Songs which are not in the DB don't get scrobbled.

Another strange point is that all songs in the playlist which are not in the database got "0:00" as playtime.

This seems to be attached to another problem. Amarok does not read the tags of files which are not in the database.

All that said, we strongly encourage to actually put all your tracks in the Collection. It's like the heart of Amarok.

I don't see a good reason for not doing so.

The only reason atm is this bug http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172953

:)

And, well I have a folder with many single tracks in it.
In Amarok 1.4 I created one single playlist of them.
