I love amarok, it is the best music player.  My system has fedora 10 on 64 bits, first I try to install amarok using yum but it  cannot display any button (play, stop, etc). Then I try to build from source I check the README and INSTALL files, I follow the instrucciones in the web site but when I did make, I got:

[ 86%] Building CXX object src/CMakeFiles/amaroklib.dir/amarokconfig.o
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/lib64/libgif.so', needed by `lib/libamaroklib.so.1.0.0'.  Stop.
make[1]: *** [src/CMakeFiles/amaroklib.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

I have searched for a solution, someone suggest to make a symbolic link between libgif.so.4.1.3 and libgif.so, but it is for another application.

Does someone have any idea? Thanks in advance!

Apparently you are missing libgif. So try to install a libgif-dev package or similar.
