Couple of Issues

Thu Dec 11, 2008 8:37 pm
Allright, I'm starting to use Amarok2 and so far It's going fine but I have a couple of issues:

A) the Current Track Info applet doesn't seem to be updating at all. Same thing happens with the window header.
B) The node Various artists in the collection browser is missing

Any help is appreciated

I am having this issue also but it extends beyond the track info applet. Everything works great for a while but then everything stops updating (All applets and Window title). The "Playing:" field in the status bar along the bottom gets updated and strangely the super karama widget I'm using get's updated just fine.

The "current track applet not updating" issue is definitely very weird. Never seen this before.

On what platform/distro are you using Amarok?

I'm using kubuntu 8.10. But something weird happened, the current track applet suddenly started working all by itself, strange behaviour but well, it's allright wit me.
But what I really need is to solve the Various artists issue, I have around 100 or so compilations that need to be properly grouped, and doing it by hand is no option.
I was chatting yesterday in the irc channel and somebody told me that this (the various artists thing) has been a long standing issue in Amarok 2, so for me it seems like its gonna be back to 1.4.x which is a shame cause I'm liking A2 thus far.
BTW, Is there any way to have both (1.4.x and A2) installed in kubuntu 8.10?
Thanks in advance

Edit:Forgot to mention I'm running KDE 4.1.3

With some hacks, probably. But I wouldn't recommend it.
