Hello,
My Amarok has started crashing. It's never done that before. I have Ubuntu Hardy. Here's what I did: I booted to Ubuntu, started Thunderbird, and unlike usually, it asked for my password, and I just pressed OK since the password was there automatically, but it didn't work. It worked after a while when I typed the password again. I started Amarok at the same time as Thunderbird, and Amarok crashed in 10 minutes or so, with this error message: "Could not launch mail client. KDEInit could not launch 'kmail'.: Could not find 'kmail' executable." Pressing OK closed Amarok. Starting Amarok again crashed it again in some minutes, with the same error. It was after the third crash that I typed the password again to Thunderbird which then worked as it should. But after that, I started Amarok again, and it crashed again in ten minutes. Any help? Thanks, Ville |

When crashing, Amarok tries to send a crash report using the default KDE mail client (can be set in the control center). I guess you do not have kmail installed, so it cannot open it. This explains the error message which is apart from that unrelated to the crash (and I guess your Thunderbird problems as well, though there might be a more general problem causing both).

Is it possilble to see the crash report it tries to send?

Yes, if you install KMail. However, you should note that Amarok 1.x development is closed. Sending the report would be pointless.

In the KDE control center, you can set the default mail application. Change it from KMail to your mail client and it should work. |
