I have two "unknown widgets" in Amarok that I cannot delete. These widgets display a red box with a white X and a message that says " This object could not be created for the following reason: Could not find requested component:" The component is not identified. All my attempts to delete these widgets fail. How can I get rid of these?

you most likely have installed an older beta version of amarok and upgraded to amarok 2.0 final. since we decided to remove some applets from the final build that we did not consider to be completely ready, the problem is that you have some old applets that amarok loads but fails to load correctly, and you cannot remove them.
your best bet is to remove ${KDE_PREFIX}/share/kde4/services/amarok-service* ${KDE_PREFIX}/lib/kde4/amarok_context* and then re-installing amarok.

That didn't work. However, I did some more searching and found that deleting the file ~.kde4/share/config/amarok_homerc did the trick. It is hard to figure these things out when applications create so many configuration files.
