Hi,
is it possible to compile amarok 2.0 without mysql? I do not use mysql and I do not see any reason to use it (I don't even have collection in my amarok 1.4 created. I use it in very simple way). |

No, you cannot compile Amarok 2 without MySQL.
However, note that Amarok 2 does _not_ use a normal MySQL server installation, but just the MySQL Embedded variant, which requires no configuration and is completely transparent to the user. It's basically just a library that Amarok needs.

I don't understand that. I don't even have collection created (and I don't want to, tidiness on my filesystem is enough) so what would I use mysql support for?

Bottom line: at this point you cannot compile amarok without mysql.

Are there any thoughts to relax a demand to use
- embedded mode (rather embedded or server), - 5.x (rather 5.x or 4.x) MySQL version? |

Any news in plans to alowing not-embedded MySQL mode?
