Ubuntu 8.10, Amarok 1.4.10 downstairs

upstairs, Powermac G4, OS X 10.4.11, ITunes, 8.something

I launch amarok, Settings, Configure, Media Devices, Add Msuc Sharing, Ok... go to the Devices tab on the left and I see the computer... when I click on it I get 2 error boxes

a) Error Loading Media Could not open file
b) xine could not find the url, xine parameters

Itunes is set up to share with no password and shares fine to a iTunes running on Windows.

This wikipedia entry would suggest that the DAAP connections to shared iTunes libraries are now protected, so that could be why Amarok is failing to show any music?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Au ... s_Protocol

EDIT: please note, I have NO drm music.. this is all basic mp3s, I simply cannot get Amarok to show any of the music after the "Connect" step appears to work.
