Ok, what am I doing wrong?

I've installed openSUSE 11.1, with KDE 4.1.3 and amarok 2.0.  I can't get my collection to load in that pane.  I have set the directory to the correct place, and I can see the mp3's under the Files tab and can add them to the playlist from there.

I've run Update collection and Rescan collection, but to no avail.  There must be a step I'm missing.  BTW, my collection are just mp3's ripped by lame using Grip.

You are probably missing a package for mysql embedded. This seems to be missing due to a packaging error on the suse side. Install it and it should work.

I had the same problem and installing MySQL (just 'mysql') solved it indeed.

That was the trick for me. Thanks for taking the time to post your experience.

Hum, this appears to be a packaging error with SUSE then. If the MySQL package is needed for Amarok, then it should be an automatic dependency.

Could one of you contact the SUSE packagers about this problem?

They know about it already, but consider it an Amarok problem:

I'm not qualified to sort that out, and I think that the Amarok team should do the contacting.
