Greetings all, and thanks for a great product.

I am using Amarok 1.4.4 under KDE in Debian Etch, standard straight from the repository installation. I also use the version of mysql installed from Etch, I believe it is 5.0.32.

Anyway, I have been happily using Amarok, when a couple of days ago I noticed a change in the context browser behavior. Instead of displaying an article, I got a language request and a list of several languages to choose from. Not a problem I thought and picked one. Then I got another language list. Now this was getting a little annoying. So I tried a different song with the same results. I was able to use the external browser link to bring up the correct page.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there an easy solution, like a configuration parameter somewhere?

Good lord, you realize that 1.4.4 is like 3 years old? You really cannot expect us to give you support for such an ancient version.

Please upgrade!

So I took the advice and upgraded to 1.4.10. And to my surprise, I am still having the same problem. Imagine that. Guess I will have to try 2.0 and see if the problem is still there.

The problem is making a little more sense now. I have found a few pages where I still get the correct display in the artist portion of the context browser. Examining the source pages, they do not have the language block on them. And that appears to be what I am getting, just the language block.

So this appears to have more to do with a change in format of the wiki pages.

I have similar behaviour here. (Which is the UK as you can see from the spelling!)

Context:

Amarok 1.4.9.1 (Using KDE 3.5.10)

Platform: Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy)

I first noticed this behaviour on firing up Amarok yesterday.

Thanks, however, for a stellar piece of coding.

Same here. only getting the language choices. (see attached screenshot)
MEPIS 8 RC1 (debian lenny)
Amarok 1.4.10 using KDE 3.5.10
(build Jan 10 2009)

This behavior only started recently.  from previous build to Jan 10 maybe.

Here is a fix:

Could it be applied in the upstream?

See other thread - has been applied upstream, and packagers for the distros have been notified. If the update doesn't appear, bother your distro's packager!
