I am using Amarok 1.4.9.1 as packaged in Ubuntu Hardy. I am unable to show songs when searching the collection browser. For instance, If I enter a song title, I can play it or insert it into the queue by clicking (or right-clicking) on the artist name. However, I can't figure out how to see the actual song title. Hopefully this screenshot helps.
On the left, you can see I entered "Time of your" in the collection browser. This matches, "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" by Green Day. However, I can't actually see the song. Earlier (Unfortunately, I don't remember whether this was in Ubuntu Gutsy or earlier in Hardy), I was able to. IIRC, this just required single-clicking the album or artist. Is this a bug in the software and/or my config, or am I just being denser than usual? |

Hm, perhaps try changing the "group by" setting, then changing it back to your preference. That sometimes gets "stuck" (for want of a better phrase!), and stops any tracks displaying in the collection.

I figured it out. It wasn't the group by setting, but actually "iPod View". I don't have an iPod, or really any portable music device (I can play MP3s on my phone, but I usually don't bother with it). Thus, I'm not sure how I got stuck in this mode. But you can see in the screenshot the iPod icon, three right from Group By, is selected. I "fixed" it by changing it to Tree Mode, the first right from Group By. You actually helped by getting me to look in the general area. |

Glad you found it - I'd forgotten about the ipod view!
