I'm not sure if my english is good enough to explain my situation so I try it with some screenshots.
Well, my collection looks like this. http://hal9k.eu/images/amar2011_1.png This "Nodame Cantabile Top 100" is a compilation of 100 classic tracks (Beethoven, Mozart, etc. etc.) Now my tree looks like this. http://hal9k.eu/images/amar2011_2.png So, I thought if I add one of those to Various Artists, then the whole album should be there. Well that didn't worked. This is the result http://hal9k.eu/images/amar2011_3.png Two entries of the album, both with the same songs BUT only 36 of them... and If I put them into a playlist it looks like this: http://hal9k.eu/images/amar2011_5.png I still have dozens of entrys outside various artists... http://hal9k.eu/images/amar2011_4.png ...and I can't add them to various artists. Because I only get the option "do not show under various artists" (dunno the english version) if I try. Well and on top of that my tags get mixed up. http://hal9k.eu/images/amar2011_6.png (Well, Antichrist Warzone from Bach, thats hilarious ![]() I'm using the Kubuntu 8.10 (KDE 4.1.3) and Amarok 2.0.1.1 deb packages. |

Hello,
My problem looks a lot like yours. From the moment I started using Amarok version 2, my collection is messed up when it comes to Albums. Some albums are mentioned more than once, and some songs are in the first album and other songs are in the second or third or .... The album names are exactly the same and I don't see any difference in the file tags, file names or file locations that can explain why these albums are splitted in multiple albums with the same name. When you click the links below you can immediately see what I mean. Does any one know more about this and how to solve this little problem? http://users.telenet.be/AWsumality/Amar ... em%201.jpg http://users.telenet.be/AWsumality/Amar ... em%202.jpg http://users.telenet.be/AWsumality/Amar ... cation.jpg |

Try deleting your Amarok 2 database (take note, this is going to erase all statistics):
rm -rf $HOME/.kde/share/apps/amarok/mysqle

I gave that a try, but without success
![]() The only thing that changed is that now other tracks have mixed up tags than before. Example: "Antichrist Warzone" from Bach is gone, now I have "Der Tanz in der Dorfschenke ..." from Brahms... which is originally from Franz Lizst. Well at least it's the same genre now ![]() |

I deleted the database but I didn't see any improvement. The collection still is messed up. It is exactly the same as before. No improvement.
But it didn't worsen also..... so ....... hey......that's a good thing ......right? ![]() ![]() |
