For some of the music in my collection, the album art is not showing up in the collection list, the song info pane, or the OSD. The default empty cd case image appears. I cannot seem to see anything that is different between the music that is showing album art correctly and that which is not.
The art showed up correctly in amarok 1.1.4. All of the art was embedded using EasyTag 2.1.4 using ID3 version 2.3 tags. I am running Ubuntu Intrepid. Incidentally, there is no ~/.kde4 directory, so i'm not sure where to look for logs... Thanks!

I don't think that reading embedded album art is already implemented. Please see here:

Thanks for the response Mark - upon further investigation, you're right - it is showing the jpg/png image file that is in the folder of the album, not the art that is embedded within the file. The albums that were missing artwork had no associated artwork in the album folder.
I made the decision a while ago to standardize on embedded album art, as the increased portability of the music files outweighed the sacrificed drive space, so this is a big one for me...I just haven't gotten around to cleaning up the old image files in the folders which is what threw me for a loop here. I'll make a feature request on the link that you sent to ask that that functionality is added back in a later version. Thanks. |
