I use the Amarok2.0beta from the dmg you could load from the amarok side under OSX 10.5 with a Intel CPU.
My amarok only watch my music folder I haven't changed anything else in the configuration! So when my Amrok runs some time, playing or not playing music it uses a lot of CPU power and my Mac turns on his fans.
