ID3 tags and import

Sun Jan 18, 2009 5:20 pm
This is a rather odd bug...I have one directory I was intending to add to my Amarok database (2.0.1). The tags were originally not there for some reason so I used Kid3 (KDE4 version) to tag the files. When I copied the album into the appropiate place (i.e. ~/multimedia/music/Amarok) the database was updated. Or so I thought...the collection browser didn't find my new album, and when I used the files-tab to locate the files and used the "Edit track details", everything had been stripped out of the files. Not only the tags, but the summary claims the files have no bitrate and no length, and no nothing.

Everything else that I've used to just read the tags has worked (audacios, easytag, mediainfo, winamp) in reading the files but for some reason Amarok is throwing a fit over them. Any idea of where to look for the problem?

I joined the Amarok forums just to second this.... I have exactly the same problem and I've been scratching my head for months now and I believe the problem in the Amarok 2.X side...

I had no problem with any other software (JuK for example) or with Amarok 1.x
