Amarok 1.4.8 for Eeepc 900 Xandros Linux from xepc.org distribution

Until two weeks ago amarok was working fine for me with a few glitches but nothing that couldn't be sorted.  Now after it scans my library which takes about 20 mins no titles show up under collection tab. Therefore rending Amarok useless for me.

Details.

I have my library on an external hard drive.  This has always been the case

I have deleted amarokrc and collection.db to reset the database several times but still no songs showing

I reinstalled Amarok 1.4.8. Same result

I completely uninstalled amarok and reinstalled Amarok. Nothing.

Please help?  what can I do.
