Amarok 2.0 on a Mandriva 2009 box with KDE 4.1.3. Amarok will play cd's with no problems but I cannot get streams to play. It acts as though it's not connecting to the net as I see no activity on my DSL modem as I do when playing a stream with XMMS. Any help would be appreciated.

Mandriva uses the GStreamer Phonon backend by default, which is currently a bit buggy. If you install the xine backend (plus MP3 support!) and enable it in the KDE systemsettings, this might fix you problems.
There should be several instructions for this on the Internet (just search it).

Thanks for the reply Mark. I've installed xine but possibly not all the right components. I'll see what I can come up with.

I just noticed that I should have clarified "CD's will play" these are .mp3s that are playing in Amarok. Thought I should do this since doing some reading I see that there are quite a few posts saying that mp3s can't be played.
