Amarok 1.4.x previous permitted users to set podcasts to be auto-downloaded when updated.  Amarok 2.0 seems to have the same functionality, but upon setting my desired configuration, I found that this feature does not work as expected.  I updated my podcasts and they were not auto-downloaded.

I am having this problem as well.  I am trying to download podcasts from http://feeds.kcrw.com/kcrw/tu
and have set Amarok to automatically scan for updates and to download the tracks when available (which is daily).  Amarok downloads the track name but not the track itself.  If I use the "update all" button, amarok also does not download the track.  It is only when I open the podcast list itself, right click on the track, and click "download now" that it will actually download.  Any ideas?

Hi there,

Same problem here, I said that it should download it automatically but it doesn't . (It worked with 1.4) And yes, I do know that it is a security issue.

Does that post not get any attention???

The podcast feature is rather buggy in 2.0.x. We are aware of that, and the feature's maintainer has recently made many bug fixes all over the place.

So please stay tuned for 2.1-beta2, which should improve podcast support a lot.

I don't know that, sorry. My expertise with media devices is quite limited.
