Hello dear Amarok pantheon!
Here's my little bugger : I have all my collection currently on a NAS drive (Synology DiskStation), as we all have laptops only here. It can advertise music as DAAP and Amarok2 sees it without problem. But I want to enjoy my collection as a local collection, so I mount the drive using cifs, and tell Amarok to look there. Well, the first collection scan was going to take ages, so I decided to try with just a folder with few artists (namely Y: Ciccone Youth, The Yardbirds, Neil Young, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Yes). It took around 10-15 minutes, and didn't go through all the folders (no Neil Young). After that the interface was very slow, and I trying to rescan the collection didn't have any effect. I uninstalled Amarok2, reinstalled 1.4 (on Kubuntu Intrepid btw), it takes 1-2 minutes (building on sqlite) for the same Y folder, and everyone is there. Additionally, on Amarok2 with the whole collection, but on a usb portable drive, it's really fast (and a pleasure to use, of course ). Did anyone noticed the same problem? Do you think it's config related or an actual bug in Amarok? |

I should add, regarding file permissions, that the files are 777, that the owner name is the same as my username who runs amarok, only the groups are different.
The network drive is also mounted making sure (hopefully??) with these same credentials. |

Ok, problem kinda solved with a fresh install from KDE4 Live cd.
Don't know if it's Kubuntu related or my personal config, but yeeeeheee! Let's enjoy now |
