Connecting to Amarok from Itunes

Tue Feb 10, 2009 3:34 am
Hi all,

I understand that I can't connect to Itunes 7+ libraries from Amarok, but does it work both ways? Even if I can't listen to friends' itunes libraries on my network, I'd like for them to be able to access my music however they have not been able to connect. Their error messages suggest checking that my 3689 tcp port is open and I belive it is: netstat tells me it's LISTENing.

Any tips? Is the problem on my end or itunes/mac end? Cheers.

I'm having trouble with this too - Amarok can connect to its own share, but not iTunes.

The name of it displays in the "Shared" section of iTunes, but when you click on it, it immediately disappears and nothing is displayed in the artists/albums.

Firewall is completely turned off on both machines and my Linux box with Amarok is showing that it's listening on 3689.

I tried earlier versions of iTunes on Windows and I get the following error: "The shared music library is not accessible for an unknown reason. (-39)"

Can anyone help debug this - is there an access or debug log for the sharing facility of Amarok?
