strange behaviour of amarok 2.0.1

Fri Feb 13, 2009 3:18 pm
Hello,

Before upgrading amarok 1.4.10 to 2.0.1 I've deleted all configuration from my home directory. After upgrade I created collection and after a while I discover that amarok doesn't play some songs. It just get stuck, timer says 0:00 and nothing happens. Some mp3's are played and others don't. Firstly i thought its fault of polish diacritics mark or spaces in the file names. But this wasn't it. Then I tryed to run amarok from console and wait for error, but all I found on internet was realted to xine-phonon-backend wich is not the case. Dragon player, Juk and mplayer played all tracks without problems. After some time i doscovered that if I copy or move those "faulty" files outside the collection dirs amarok plays them without any problems. I tried to rescan my collection, not having collection at all - nothing of it helps. Amarok still refuses to play some files while they're inside the collecion dir.

Currently I'm confused, do I need amarok from SVN or did I missed something?

My specs:
slackware-current, 2.6.28
KDE 4.2.0 and Amarok 2.0.1 packages from here:
http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/linux/slackware ... nt/testing

HP Pavilion dv9680
Slackware64-current | kernel 2.6.32 | kde 4.4beta2 | QT 4.6 | opera 10.10
