I've got a similar problem. No playback of last.fm-adresses (e.g. lastfm://globaltags/Alternative).
System: Betriebssystem: Linux 2.6.27.7-9-pae i686 System: openSUSE 11.1 (i586) KDE: 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) "release 4.9" "About Amarok" says: Amarok 1.4.10 (KDE 3.5.10 "release 21.9" openSUSE) Installation was done via packman repository. No problem with scrobbling. Any ideas? |

Amarok 1.x uses a _very_ old version of the Last.fm protocol, which is hardly supported any more. If you want to use Last.fm fully, you will have to upgrade to Amarok 2.x, which uses the latest and greatest liblastfm, and the current protocol version.

Thanks for the information.
I updated my system in january (SuSE 10.3 --> 11.1). Before that, last.fm worked fine with Amarok 1.4.? Hm. So far I prefer the features of Amarok 1.4, but I'll have a look at Amarok 2. Current problem: I'm using two soundcards and just can't find the menu where I can set the right soundcard. |

Hopefully someone will fix this like they did with the wiki page munging, otherwise I guess no last.fm for me.
Though I appreciate the sentiment of not working on the old project in favor of the new, small fixes like this should be maintained until the new version is mature enough to replace the old in my opinion. Amarok 2.0 is a nice start, but isn't quite there yet and many people are still using and prefer the 1.4 release. I'll have a go at updating the library myself, if I get it working I'll surely post back here. |

There's absolutely no chance that this would get "fixed" in 1.x. In fact 1.x is really code frozen, and that Wikipedia fix was just an exception. Changing the Last.fm component would require rewriting large parts of the program.

I'm sorry, but we simply don't have the manpower to still support the old version. Hope you understand.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

What i wanted to know is are other people have similar problem like me...
I'll upgrade it in my free time... Thanks for reply... Btw, i have DB with all lyrics/info. Can i use that DB for amarok 2 or i need to create new one? |

Amarok 2 features a "Collection Importer" for Amarok 1.4 databases. You can find it in the Settings dialog -> Collection -> Import Collection. However, the importer is currently known to have a few technical issues (bugs), so that I can't guarantee that it will work 100% right. It's worth a try though

This is unfortunate, because Amarok 2.x requires KDE4, and KDE4 is a nightmare. So much so that people have gone to the effort of creating a KDE3 repository for Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid). After upgrading a modern machine (1.6 GHz P4, 1.5 GB RAM) from Hardy to Intrepid, I found that the KDE app I most rely on -- Akregator -- was so slow as to be unusable.

I personally went back to FVWM II with XMMS. Then I noticed, XMMS is too modern for me. I'm now using a record player, and use my C64 for writing BASIC programs.
