Hi all,
Apologies in advance if this has been covered before, I searched and couldn't find anything addressing exactly this problem: I have a ton of mp3 files on hard drive, divided into separate folders. Each folder also has an .m3u playlist. My device (Zen Xtra, MTP mode) connects fine, I can point to the .m3u playlist and select "transfer to device" and all tracks transfer beautifully, in the correct order, and a playlist is created on the device. No problems there. The problem begins when the filenames themselves include foreign characters - I mean Latin characters with accents on a, e, o, i, etc. my remedy so far has been to edit the actual filenames, which of course means edit them in the playlist as well. Otherwise, they show up in the Amarok transfer queue with "file://" prefixed to the filename and a square where the foreign characters are, which of course means Amarok will fail to transfer them. A royal pain in the neck. Is there a way to let Amarok accept the characters as is? I know, I don't even like such characters in the filename, but it's too late now and we're talking about thousands of tracks and over 100 playlists. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, and cheers |

Please always specify what version of Amarok you are using (the more info - the better!)
