I have a lot of .flac files, and some refuse to play with Amarok 2.0.1.1 (but play with VLC).
My question is what data would be relevant for me to post, and how can I collect this data? I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 |

If using the xine Phonon backend, make sure to add a seek-table to your FLAC files.
More information can e.g. be found here: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/ind ... opic=45862

I ran a script to add seektables and then manually checked a few that won't play. The files do have seekfiles, however Amarok reports their size as 0 bytes. I'm trying to play these files from the "file" tab so I know that the links are pointing to dead files.
EDIT: The file plays with the GUI Xine. Once again, I'm not sure what engine Amarok is using, and I am unsure how to set an engine as default.

You can check the Phonon (KDE multimedia system) backend that Amarok uses like this: KDE 4.1: systemsettings -> Sound -> Backend KDE 4.2: systemsettings -> Multimedia -> Backend

I use Gnome, but I managed to solve this problem by just using a nightly build. No idea what was wrong with my stable build...
