Creative Vs libmtp

Thu Feb 26, 2009 9:41 am
I have a Creative Zen Micro
I NOW have Amarok 2.0.1 running on a Fedora 10 PC
my version of libmtp is the latest available to me
previous versions of Amarok gave me an option to add my MP3 player (but did it automatically)
the latest version is so buggy it's incredible
it freezes, it crashes and ...
It won't allow me to connect my Zen Micro.

I have checked my version of /etc/udev/rules.d/libmtp.rules and my device isn't there (but it wasn't in the previous version of Amarok either).
running MTP-detect in a terminal just gets me "I haven't got a clue what this command means" messages

How might one use the amarok GUI to configure settings for attaching different MP3 devices as the applet is, and has always been, a blank window no matter how many times I add the applet and remove it and add it again ?
