Can't set any global shortcuts

Fri Feb 27, 2009 4:25 pm
I'm trying to set global shortcuts, but any at all that I try to configure always error out with this

"The shortcut 'Meta+Ctrl+Alt+Shift+V' conflicts with the following key combinations:"

but no conflicting key combinations are listed. This happens regardless of the keys I try to set, and also if I just try to activate the defaults.

I'm running Amarok 2.0.1 (KDE 4.2) in Fedora 10 x86_64, though my desktop environment is GNOME.

Anything I can try to fix this?

thanks!

I used to have the same problem on Gentoo Linux with Amarok 2.1.
For me the solution was to manually install kdedglobalaccel. This is the service kded uses for managing global shortcuts.
Don't know though if this will work for you or how the package is called on Fedora.
