Amarok won't transcode on transfer to music player

Hello,

I've been looking for a program that will allow me to organize my collection and convert my .flac files to mp3 upon transfer to my music player.  I've tried several (including Amarok 2) and it seems that Amarok 1.4.10 fits the bill quite well.

However, I have a problem that I'm not sure how to solve.  I've setup my Sansa e140 as a Generic Music Player device (rather than MTP) and it connects perfectly with Amarok.  I've also setup the configuration for the music player that shows which file types should be transferred directly and which should be transcoded.  The only one listed for direct transfer is mp3.  The option for all other files will be transcoded to mp3 is showing up correctly.  Strangely, the section above which also deals with transcoding is all grayed out and I can't choose any options there.  I don't have any commands setup in the pre-connect command or the post-disconnect command.  When I added .flac files to the music player transfer list it seemed to go OK but as soon as I hit the transfer button, I got the error message "11 tracks not playable on media device" and it won't transfer or transcode the files.  In the script manager, it does show that the transcode script is there (but not options seem accessible - perhaps that's normal).

I'd love any help/advice on how to sort out this transcode on demand issue.  That would make Amarok just perfect.  If you need any additional info, please let me know.  Thanks so much in advance!

From memory, you may also need to install a script to give the actual transcoding functionality. Called transKode, I think. Please have a look through some of the older topics here - you should find more info.
