Hello,

i like to use Amarok 2 on my kubuntu interepid installation but it don't starts at all :(
I have installed it a described here: http://www.kubuntu.org/news/amarok-2.0.1.1
When i try to start it the following message will be displayed:

Code: Select all
Amarok could not find any collection plugins. Amarok is now updating the KDE configuration database. Please wait a couple of minutes, then restart Amarok.
If this does not help, it is likely that Amarok is installed under the wrong prefix, please fix your installation using:
$ cd /path/to/amarok/source-code/
$ su -c "make uninstall"
$ ./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix` && su -c "make install"
$ kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental
$ amarok
More information can be found in the README file. For further assistance join us at #amarok on irc.freenode.net.

Building from the last svn trunk also failes:

Code: Select all
[ 84%] Built target amarok_afttagger
[ 84%] Built target amarok_collection-daapcollection
Linking CXX shared module ../../../lib/libamarok_collection-ipodcollection.so
CMakeFiles/amarok_collection-ipodcollection.dir/handler/IpodHandler.o: In function `Ipod::IpodHandler::getCoverArt(_Itdb_Track*, KSharedPtr<Meta::IpodTrack>)':
/data/src/amarok/src/collection/ipodcollection/handler/IpodHandler.cpp:1337: undefined reference to `itdb_artwork_get_pixbuf'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [lib/libamarok_collection-ipodcollection.so] Error 1
make[1]: *** [src/collection/ipodcollection/CMakeFiles/amarok_collection-ipodcollection.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

Any tipp what i can try ... ?

Tanks and best regards

Regarding build error: You're probably using an incorrect Libgpod version. Try to upgrade it (or maybe downgrade - our README should say what we need).

The current libgpod used in SVN is 0.7 AFAIK. Still, if you did install it as told on the Kubuntu.org page you refer to, it should work with 0.6.0 too. Somehow something is broken in your installation. Are you sure you have all necessary KDE libraries?

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

One common problem: Having different versions of one library installed in different places.

Hi,

Thanks! That's it, i have installed 0.7.0 manually and 0.6.0 was installed due to a dependency of a other package.
