So I have just been dealing with this up until now, but apparently I screwed up something.
I have ubuntu 8.10 with amarok 1.4 - at least it's not from the 2.0 tree. ALthough I had the same problem with YDL and Amarok 1.2? (sorry I have so many linux boxes with different distro's I tend to forget, and I doubt that the exact version matters much for this issue) Anyway I only have component cables and am limited to 720P which makes for a fairly small display. The configure amarok window extends past the bottom of the screen and can't be moved or resized to make things visible. So when I need to change settings, I've pulled up amarok on my laptop and basically memorized key strokes. The problem is I goofed, and apparently changed a setting I didn't mean to. Anybody have any idea how I can "see" the settings window? |

It occurred to me, it might be valuable to add what happened.
I was simply trying to turn on ratings - and I know I fat fingered something, once I got out of configuration - my collection dissappeared and won't rebuild. |

Re: problems with small display on PS3[work around] - real answer would be nice

While I'd like to solve the underlying issue with the screen size, I did solve my immediate problem.
Apparently in my fat fingering I nuked my MySQL password. How did I figure that out? Installed sshd on my ps3, setup X11 forwarding and logged in from my laptop with a larger display. It's ugly - it's duct tape, but I can use amarok again. Cheers! |

You should be able to drag a dialogue box around the screen by holding alt while you click/drag anywhere in the box.
edit: I should add that this is in KDE - other window managers may have different key combos to achieve the same result!
