hi,
when i try to start amarok (2.0.2) on my fedora 10, i386 machine, the splashscreen shows up, stays there forever and amarok never starts. this is, what "amarok --debug" gives:
any ideas? thanks, katharina |

I had a similar problem. It turned out my ~/.kde directory was owned by root.
This command $ sudo chown -R me:me ~/,kde fixed the problem. |

It can also be a symptom of other issues - could be a dialogue window stuck behind the splash screen too. Try editing your ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc to disable the splash and re-launch amarok. This may give you a better idea of what's causing the freeze.

Another good idea would be to update your Amarok, version 2.1.1 is out since quite some time now.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
