When I hold a song on pause, I cannot resume it.
Amarok is frozen, I have to kill it. If I quit normally amarok KDE is freezing.
Even kdm is KO !
with /etc/init.d/kdm I had the indication that kdm was not responsive (but still launched)

i'm running amarok 2.0.2 on Kubuntu 9.04 beta (with pulseaudio)
I'm not sure it's an amarok but, maybe it's related to Kubuntu, i'm checking launchpad

I launched amarok in a konsole and reproduced the bug, here are the last lines :

TagLib: MPEG::Header::parse() -- Invalid sample rate.
TagLib: MPEG::Header::parse() -- Invalid sample rate.
amarok(8272) CurrentTrack::dataUpdated: CurrentTrack::dataUpdated
TagLib: MPEG::Header::parse() -- Invalid sample rate.

QString::arg: Argument missing: Amarok - No track playing., 0:00
amarok(8272) CurrentTrack::dataUpdated: CurrentTrack::dataUpdated
amarok(8272) CurrentTrack::dataUpdated: CurrentTrack::dataUpdated

the first line "amarok(8272) CurrentTrack::dataUpdated: CurrentTrack::dataUpdated" is when I pause the song,
the two last happened when I clicked on "play" (I just clicked once)

FOUND : This is related to PulseAudio, when I unset pulseaudio as default engine, amarok doesn't causes this anymore. Maybe it's just a pulseaudio bug

I can confirm this for OpenSUSE 11.1, using amaroK 2.0.2 on KDE 4.2.2, pulseaudio 0.9.14 and ALSA 1.0.19. Hardware is Realtek ALC 883 (snd_hda_intel).

When pausing playback, amaroK will hang and has to be killed manually. Occasionally, pulseaudio gets muted in the process. Somehow, amaroK and pulseaudio don't seem to play together nicely. :-\

It's "Amarok" not amaroK (has been for years now!).
There are known problems with pulseaudio - but not being a linux user at the moment, I can't for the life of me remember what you need to switch to. Please check the rest of this forum for answers!

Use the xine Phonon backend, not GStreamer.
