Hi.
First of all and because this is my first post I want to thank the Amarok team for this nice piece of software. And a word of encouragement too for the developers of version 2, which is very promising and I have no doubt will become the best music player in some time and with some tweaking. I'm using Amarok 2 SVN, complied yesterday, and it looks like Replay Gain is not working. The volume is not modified when a new track starts (in album mode or track mode). It works in Amarok 1.4 with the Replay Gain script. An example of the Replay Gain tags in one file (eyeD3 output): 01 - Blackest Eyes.mp3 [ 7.32 MB ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Time: 04:23 MPEG1, Layer III [ ~232 kb/s @ 44100 Hz - Joint stereo ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ID3 v2.3: title: Blackest Eyes artist: Porcupine Tree album: In Absentia year: 2002 track: 1 genre: Progressive Rock (id 92) UserTextFrame: [Description: replaygain_track_gain] -8.88 dB UserTextFrame: [Description: replaygain_track_peak] 1.180829 UserTextFrame: [Description: replaygain_album_gain] -9.06 dB UserTextFrame: [Description: replaygain_album_peak] 1.335737 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ID3 Frames: |

Yeah, I think it currently only works with the GStreamer Phonon backend (which has other problems though), but not with xine.
At least that's what I heard
