Download the patch.
Copy it into the directory, where the amarok sources reside.
Open a terminal there and type: patch -p0
Compile amarok as usual.

Compile amarok from svn or wait for your distro to provide new packages.

I have just tried Exaile and that also does not scrobble with KDE4.2.2 but it is fine with KDE4.1.  So maybe it is a KDE issue, not an amarok one?

If you think about it, it's highly unlikely that Exaile (using GNOME libs) would be influenced by KDE ;)

correlation != causation

BTW: We've found and fixed the bug already.

Since I'm too lazy to uninstall, recompile and etc. I guess this bug will keep me away from Amarok until it is repackaged by Fedora :-/  But everything has a bright side - using Rhythmbox for a while is making me appreciate the Amarok 2 interface quite a lot more...

What I recommend to everyone is to upgrade to Amarok 2.1 beta1, which is going to be released... wait for it...

Today! :)

I'm having the same issue with Amarok 2.0.2 on Ubuntu 9.04 v. 64 bits and I'm not able to compile from svn. I guess I have to wait until Jaunty maintainers will include your patch to update the package.
Bye.

Or you could add these lines to your sources:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-experi ... ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-experi ... ppa/ubuntu jaunty main

Credits to all previous posts that list this repo
