Amarok Devices

Tue Apr 07, 2009 8:26 am
Hello!

I'm using Amarok 1.4.10 for playing my music. It's nice. Also I have Apacer mp3 player and it doesn't work with Amarok Devices. It shows that device is connected, but I can't transfer files. It's a simple USB mp3 player.

How do I make it work?

Thanks.

Just mount it as a plain USB device then. You can access it directly then.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

I know that >.<

I have lots of songs and I've made aspecial playlist. How can I transfer songs to the mp3 player? Except copying 200 different songs one by one...

Well, e.g. with Dolphin :)

I really don't see the big deal - a USB Mass Storage player isn't much different from an external HDD or a thumb drive.

http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.ph ... tent=99005 should do the thing.
Ups sorry, just saw that you're still using 1.4
So, this one's for you:
http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=22037
Because It could be really annoying to fill your player manually.

My Mp3 player and Phone both take SD cards, Wich I load into a Sd Card reader to transfer music. Recently I have realized  If I open amarok 1.4??? on Ubuntu load a play list then just drag it onto my SD Card it actually transfers the files from my computer. So in other words I no longer have those songs on my computer. ;-) was wondering why some of my CD's were getting holes in them ;-)

Is there some way around this with out search thrue Thousands of folders?

I have a feeling that drag/drop behaviour in Amarok follows your KDE settings. Check in your controlcenter for that kind of thing.
If you're not using KDE I'm not sure what the defaults are, but you might want to check with your distro to find out which packages you need to get the controlcenter program installed.
