I really don't like the middle panel in the new amarok where you can add applets to.
How can I remove this pane to save screenspace? |

Just use the "dividers" that sit between the 3 main areas. Drag the rightmost divider ( the one between the context view and The Playlist ) all the way to the left until it "snaps" to the other divider, completely hiding the context view. Then use the leftmost divider to make the browsers a bit wider again.

This method works fine.
But Applet pane appearce again when Left pane collapsed, So I should use "dividers" again. Does Amarok has methods to permanently remove Applet pane? I use Amarok 2.0.96. |

Use Bespin style, so you'll get a button to hide the middle pane. No more shifting of the dividers.
Rumours say, there's a hidden option in amarokrc to hide the middle pane permanently. Greetings m0nk

A word of warning: Bespin is kinda shaky from a technical point of view (yes, we've looked at the code). If you get strange crashes, please don't blame us

Mark pleaaaase, rescue me from doing these abnormal perverted things with amarok!
Haven' got any crashes, yet. Have you read the author's comment about having the ability to customize/configure amarok or adding this hide/unhide button to amarok? Greetings m0nk

Yep, this is actually scheduled for inclusion in 2.1.1. But remember: Everytime you use it you will make an Amarok developer cry (and possibly also kill a kitten), as we invested a lot of work to the make the Context View prettier and more usable in 2.1.0, and even more so in 2.1.1.

The main reason to close the CV is to avoid the so-called PUD from appearing. I'm a simple guy and this thing irritates me. I sit in front of my monitor, starring at the PUD, tracks clued to my mouse's cursor, waiting for a decision, while I get a paroxysm in my finger. Oh my God, decisions, always decisions.
Aaaah; so it's easier (and faster and shorter) to drag the tracks on the playlist. No decision. But I must say, sometimes I take a look on the CV. I always compile the playground , too But mostly, it goes this way: Open amarok, fill the playlist, minimize, listen. Statistics and scrobbling would also nice. You see, just a simple guy That's what I want (and mostly get) from amarok Greetings m0nk

@ Mark: good to see you still have a sense of humour about the middle panel!
@ Dieter: that's how I use amarok 2 too.

Dieter, Thank you for this way of resolving issue. But I like Amarok's native skin Also, I think that resolving hard code issue by skin is a bad style.
Mark, I'm using 2.1.1 now. There is no change May you just add "Disable applet pane" check box to Amarok's configuration? Or this will take a huge development efforts? All in all, Mark thank you very much fro nice player But I feel worse when I see Applet pane |

I don't think so, as it has not been release or even tagged. You are maybe using Amarok 2.1-SVN? Just be patient, it just has not arrived in the code yet, at least not officially...
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Sorry.
I'm using 2.1. I was confused by package version amarok 2.1-1. So, I'm waiting for amarok 2.1.1 |

I'm on a netbook, so screen real estate is at a premium, and, well, being a simple person, I don't need applets, except for a handful of things that were shuffled off to be an applet (like media devices, which i hope get moved back to a tab like they were when they get added).
