Collection/Tagging issues

Fri Apr 24, 2009 11:43 pm
Hello..

there are some issues in the collection.

a) Different mountpoints -> multiple tags
If your music collection is spreaded over more than one mountpoint Amarok is reproducing same tags as often as you use them on your different mountpoints. The collection of artist and genre under the same branch in the tree only works when your music is on the same hdd.

b) Wrong tags in the collection (partly a known bug)
It's already well known that the collection messes up the tags sometimes, but i ran into a crash when i tried to correct these tags. Here's the debug output: http://www.pastebin.ca/1402368
This bug is reproduceable. If you need more output just let me know what i should do.

uh.. i've just figured out that all files with this behavior are m4a files. Let me check if this is an issue on my side o.O

libmp4v2 is installed, i'm able to play the files but the tags aren't changeable.

c) Guess tags from filename
There's a problem with the tagging feature when you let them guess from the filename:
My filename: 02.JUMP!! JUMP!! (韩).mp3
The filter: <.> <br>The problem: The title is cut off before all specialchars like ! or (). The above filename ends in the titletag 'JUMP'.<br><br>Amarok2: SVN build 04.25.2008<br>OS: Gentoo Linux<br><br>hmm.. I hope the collection will be useable for organizing my music files in the near future. I've a somewhat big mess in it already. I really miss it ^^<br><br>bb Lia
