hi there,
How do I go about deleting /.kde/share/apps/amarok and ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc files? I have logged in as a root in the terminal to find and delete them but I am not able to find them. Do I login as a root user or normal user? is it "dotkde" or kde4...? |

As a normal user of course. These files are in your home folder, you should handle the home folder as a normal user.
If you are logged in as root you are in the root folder, of course you can't find any user settings there... For your security, do not use root rights unless you are absolutely sure you really have to, else you could screw up your system far too easily.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Open dolphin->Enable Hidden files by pressing ALT+.->Search for a folder called .kde OR .kde4->Click until you are in the folder called config->delete all files starting with amarok->go to parent folder and change into apps, then into amarok->delete the folder called scripts->start amarok.
Your settings will be gone, but amarok should come up now. Greetings m0nk
