Good day,

Here is my goal:  I would like to be able to listen to a media stream in amarok.  This is the url that I am trying to listen to:
http://kut.streamguys.us:8000/media_player/

Whats happening:
I added the stream via playlist -> add a stream.  I push the big play button.  In the bottom of the screen (probably status bar) I see "Playing: Stream (http://kut.streamguys.us:8000/media_player/) but I don't hear anything.

I've checked to make sure the volume is up in both amarok and in ubuntu.

I also clicked on the internet tab/section and I am able to bring in  streams that are preloaded in amarok and I am able to hear them.

I am running ubuntu 9.04 and I have tried to install the following packages:
libxine1-ffmpeg
phonon-backend-xine

Is there a log file or a way to output errors?  I have tried to run amarok from a shell and output the stream to a text such as amarok > amarok.log
For some reason it will not go to a output file for me, but I do see these messages in the window:

QPainter::begin: Cannot paint on a null pixmap
QString::arg: Argument missing: Amarok - No track playing., 0:00

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and I appreciate any help.

The problem is that this URL isn't the real stream. Instead it points to a HTML page with an embedded Flash applet:

Flash Media Player - Shoutcast/Icecast Streams

So that cannot possibly work in Amarok. You need to figure out if this site offers a direct stream URL (perhaps write to webmaster).
