I had trouble in getting amarok recognize a compilation with 101 tracks in one folder (7 CDs). So I decided to take a look at the heuristic methods amarok uses to detect compilations. And I found in src/collection/sqlcollection/ScanResultProcessor.cpp some of them.
Mainly it is done by setting Artist to AlbumArtist if -there are multiple albums in the folder -or album is empty -or the artist is the same in all tracks -or more than 60 tracks in the folder So , in my case amarok sets every of the 101 artists = albumartist resulting in 101 different albums with the same name. My solution was patching the source by setting tracks to 666 (sic!). There is also the solution to put every CD in its own subfolder. But I don't think, it's generally a good idea to set a fixed value here. Greetings m0nk
