Hello, I've got amarok 2 running on kubuntu 9. Anyway I fired it up, scanned my music collection, all good. Then I have to move some of my folders to another disk. So now the collection has a bunch of files that aren't where the collection thinks they are.
So, rescan the collection. seems to go ok, picks up the files in the new location, however it still has the files listed in the old location. Hmm, this is particularly annoying as if I select any kind of randm playlist option (which is what I usually do) it always picks up a bunch of these dead files and if it tries to play one, it doesn't skip on to the next track, it just stops. I've tried telling it to watch for changes, rescan, delete collection, I've uninstalled amarok, reinstalled it, upgraded to the latest beta, no change. How can I just scrub the collection and start from scratch? |

You've updated from 2.0.2 to 2.1?
Because you are on Kubuntu remove .kde/share/apps/amarok and ./kde/share/config/amarok* There's no need to un/install apps to get rid of your personal settings (this is not Windoze). Just delete the config files under .kde/share/config and most times you're done. Greetings m0nk

You can remove the database which is located in ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/mysqle/, then start Amarok and rescan your collection, this should give you a new collection which is up to date. The developers are working on a fix for this behavior.
BTW, 2.1 final should be available in about a week...
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
