When I import, it freezes and stays at 53%. From what I understand is it gets hung up on metadata that it cannot read and does not continue. How can I tell what album it is getting stuck up on so that I can fix this? I've tried building the collection in both SQLite and MySQL (both at 53%) so it's obviously my own music.

Because you're talking about SQLite, I suggest you're using 1.4.
Take a look at the collection_scan.log in the amarok folder at ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok.
