More than one collection

Sun Jun 07, 2009 1:28 pm
In screen on amarok.kde.org i saw 2 collections, one on local computer and second on some external device. I search in amarok and i can't find any option to find how to add this collection. If it's possible, then it should be easier to find:)

The second collection is a collection from a daap resource in the network, either mt-daapd/Firefly or iTunes. It will appear automagically, same as a collection on an attached mediaplayer.

If you have multiple music directories, for example I have one name 'music' which which is the main part where ripped CDs and misc downloads go, then I have a 'music-dl' directory with subdirectories for last.fm, besonic, and other sites I download music from.

So when I set up amarok I have it point to 'music' and seperately to 'music-dl/last.fm', 'music-dl/besonic', etc....

As far as viewing these, it all gets listed as a single collection 'local collectin', when importing or organizing these get handled as separate entities, where I can choose to import/move to 'music', 'last.fm', 'besonic', etc....

Looking at the screenshots that are there for the Amarok 2.1 release, there is a screenshot that shows a creative zen as one collection and the local collection as another collection. So it looks like portable players will show as a different collection, may depend on which player you have.
